Elma Chamber of Commerce Presents Elma Dental Center with Business of the Quarter Award
Dr. David Blackett and Elma Dental Center received the Elma Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Quarter Award for the third quarter of 2016. The award was presented to Dr. Blackett by Elma Chamber of Commerce Board members during the Chamber meeting held at Elma Lanes & Restaurant on September 14th.
Elma Dental Center was selected as Business of the Quarter based on community involvement and their support of Elma’s businesses. Elma Dental Center and Dr. Blackett are very involved in the Elma community. The practice sponsors Little League Baseball, Elma High School FFA, DECA, and EHS Boys Soccer. David serves as Elma-McCleary Youth Soccer Club treasurer and is assistant coach for the Diamondbacks, 12-14 year-old boys soccer team. He also serves as Boy Scout Troop 4059 Committee Chair and the young men’s president for his local church.
Dr. Blackett has owned Elma Dental Center since 2003 and employs six full time staff. The practice has recently been painted and future improvements will include a new roof and skylights .
Dr. Blackett is an advocate for Elma Chamber of Commerce and Elma businesses. In 2009, he was elected to the Elma City Council. He has served as Elma Mayor pro-tem for the past five years and serves on the City of Elma’s Budget and Finance Committee. Dr. Blackett also serves as Grays Harbor Dental Society president.
