Elma Chamber of Commerce Presents the Coffee Coop with Business of the Quarter Award
The Elma Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors presented Business of the Quarter Award, for the fourth quarter of 2015, to Farralee Walseth-Burnett owner of the Coffee Coop. The plaque was presented at the Elma Chamber membership meeting held at Satsop Business Park on December 9, 2015.
The Coffee Coop was presented the award based on enhancement to Elma and support of the community. The Coffee Coop opened 15 years ago. Farralee Walseth-Burnett purchased it in August 2013. There are currently six employees that are mainly part-time. Farralee schedules her staff around school, other work schedules and activities.
Farralee Walseth-Burnett said, “We are always looking for ways to keep our customers satisfied and strive to make the best coffee. We like to participate with community groups who are doing fundraising”. Fundraising groups the Coffee Coop has donated to include: Elma Volleyball Boosters, Miss Teen Rodeo Washington DECCA, Skills USA, Elma Middle School, 4-H and Feet on the Street Fun Run. In addition to donating to fundraisers, the Coffee Coop provides assistance to the Early Bird coffee stand in the High School, are a sponsor for the Grays Harbor Mounted Posse, and donate to Malone Assembly of God Church.
The Coffee Coop goals are to continue to be an active part of the community, to hire locally for our workers, and to always make the best coffee. “The business is doing well, and we want to thank all of our outstanding customers.”
