The Elma Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors presented the Business of the Quarter Award, for the first quarter of 2014, to Elma Pharmacy.

The plaque was presented to Tom & Angie Huttula, owners, during the Elma Chamber of Commerce membership meeting on March 12 at Guesthouse Inn & Suites.

Elma Pharmacy was presented the award based on enhancement to Elma and support of the business community. Improvements made to the Pharmacy include an upgraded Pharmacy computer system in 2013 and a patient compliance packaging system in 2014. Elma Pharmacy owners plan to pave the side parking lot this year.

Elma Pharmacy is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, businesses in Elma opening in 1920. Blake Huttula bought the store in 1949 and Tom bought the store from his father in 1988. They provide employment for 15 employees with Melanie Lindley as store manager.
