Elma Chamber of Commerce Presents Les Schwab Tire Centers of Elma with Business of the Quarter Award
The Elma Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors presented the Business of the Quarter Award, for the fourth quarter of 2011, to Ralph Romero Manager and Dennis Goldsmith Assistant Manager. Chamber President Suzi Haley, Chamber Board members and chamber staff presented the plaque at the store on December 13th.
Les Schwab Tire Centers was presented the award based on enhancement to Elma and support of the business community. The Les Schwab Tire Center has been a mainstay of the Elma business community for many years. Ralph Romero, manager started with Les Schwab in Nampa, Idaho and took over the Elma store 8 years ago. Ralph and Dennis Goldsmith, assistant manager keep the store running six days a week and try to insure 100% customer satisfaction.
Major improvements to the store this year have been painting the entire inside and outside. The painting process took nearly a month to complete. In addition an old eyesore building that was part of the complex was torn down and removed and the outside pole sign was refurbished.
Les Schwab Tire Centers of Elma is also striving to be more “green” by going through the PUD program and replacing all lights with energy efficient lighting. In addition all leaded tire weights have been replace by steel weights.
Les Schwab Tire Centers supports the Elma community through involvement in Grays Harbor Posse Rodeo, 4-H, High School Equestrian Team, almost all school sports programs, County Fair sponsorship, Heat on the Street Car Show, and Downtown Trick or Treat. Their biggest community support is the creation of Buckaroo Days by Ralph Romero and Al Zepp. The Fall family festival includes numerous free events for kids due to the generosity of Les Schwab Tire Center and Elma Feed & Farm Supply.
