Elma Chamber of Commerce Presents Elma Variety Store with Business of the Quarter Award

The Elma Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors presented the Business of the Quarter Award, for the first quarter of 2019, to Carol Morrow owner of Elma Variety Store.  The plaque was presented during the Elma Chamber of Commerce membership meeting on March 20th at Elma Eagles Banquet Hall.

Elma Variety Store was presented the award based on enhancement to Elma and support of the business community.  Many improvements have been made to the store including a complete outside paint job recently and colorful planter boxes. The Elma Variety Store was approved for a state tourist attraction sign, on Hwy. 8, through the Washington State Department of Transportation.  Boyd & Carol were willing to make the financial investment for signage to attract visitors to Elma.  Quilters come from all over the state to take advantage of the large selection of fabric designs.

Elma Variety Store supports the community in numerous ways.  They are called on throughout the year for donations to Master Quilters, youth clubs, school, churches, and sports activities. Elma Variety Store sponsors Chamber events and activities including the Winter Wine Festival Silent Auction, City-Wide Garage Sale, Heat on the Street Car Show, and Downtown Trick or Treat.

We are saddened the Elma Variety Store has been sold.  We wish Carol the very best in her retirement after 47 years serving our Community.
