Mark your calendar for September 28th so you don't miss the Elma's 4th Annual Buckaroo Days Festival.
The Grand Parade starts at the High School beginning at 11 a.m. and proceeds down Main Street to 2nd Street and ends at the festival site. There are sure to be many equestrian entries in this western themed parade sponsored by Grays Harbor Radio and coordinated by the Grays Harbor Mounted Posse. Cash awards and ribbons are awarded to the best entries in many categories.
Sign up to compete in the Buckaroo Days Chili & Salsa Cook-Off. You can earn cash and bragging rights! Top cash award of $250 for 1st place chili and $100 for 1st place salsa. Elma Chamber of Commerce has $2 Tasting kits beginning at noon for salsa and $5 tasting kits at 1 p.m. for chili.
Elma Feed & Farm Supply and Les Schwab Tire Center are partnering to bring in free family and kids activities from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., including bouncy houses, games, face painting, petting farm, Muttin Bustin', pinatas and prizes. Washington State Fiddlers entertain on the Elma Feed & Farm Supply Stage throughout the day. The Buckaroo Stage will feature a juggler and magician. Throw your favorite outlaw in the Buckaroo Jail and then watch for the GH Mounted Posse robbery and jail break.
Enter your pooch in the Just for Fun Dog Show starting at 1:45 p.m. in one of the many fun categories, smallest, biggest, wiggliest and more! Great awards in this contest!

Sign-Up Now for Elma Buckaroo Days Chili & Salsa Competition!
Do people rave about your chili or salsa? Then this is your chance to win some cash and bragging rights! September 28th in Elma Chamber of Commerce hosts the 4th annual Buckaroo Days Chili & Salsa competition. The chili category is "anything goes" – beans, no beans, hot, mild, pork, chicken or beef; 1st prize $250; 2nd prize $100; 3rd prize $50. Entry fee is $25 plus one gallon of chili for public tasting and one quart for judging. Salsa competitors win $100 for 1st prize; $75 for 2nd prize; and $50 for 3rd prize. Entry fee for salsa is $15 plus one quart for public tasting and one cup for judging. All entries must be prepared on-site the morning of the competition.
$2 tasting kits will be sold by Elma Chamber of Commerce for salsa tasting starting at noon, chips included. At 1 p.m. $5 tasting kits will be sold by Elma Chamber of Commerce for chili tasting You can sample as many types of chili and salsa that your body can handle and vote for the People's choice in both categories.
